CREIGHTON MODEL
Identifying Procreative Health Concerns
One of the greatest benefits of using the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System is its ability to help identify potential health concerns.
How does Creighton Model charting support health monitoring?
The simple, standardized graphic chart used in the Creighton Model provides a clear record of each day’s observations. Over time, it allows to recognize patterns, identify abnormalities, and detect changes that may warrant further medical evaluation.
A Creighton Model cycle chart provides valuable clinical information by documenting:
the amount, quality, and duration of menstrual bleeding, as well as the occurrence of premenstrual and postmenstrual spotting,
the quantity, quality, and duration of cervical mucus observations, including assessment of the Fertility Index, an important indicator of reproductive potential,
the characteristics of the post-ovulatory phase, including its length, bleeding patterns, cervical mucus observations, and the woman’s physical and emotional well-being,
the relationship between the pre-ovulatory and post-ovulatory phases of the cycle,
the effects of stress, illness, medications, and nutritional supplements on menstrual cycle patterns.
Health Biomarkers
These characteristics of the menstrual cycle serve as biomarkers of health. They provide important information not only about procreative and gynecologic health, but also about overall physiological well-being. Changes observed on the chart may reflect conditions affecting thyroid function, hormonal regulation, metabolism, or other body systems.
For this reason, the Creighton Model cycle chart is much more than a fertility record. It is a detailed, personalized map of a woman’s health, recorded in the standardized language of the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System
